Why the Bermondsey Bomber is the perfect transitional jacket

Why the Bermondsey Bomber is the perfect transitional jacket

If you've been a customer of Oliver Spencer for a while, you will be more than familiar with one of our favourite perennial silhouettes - the Bermondsey bomber jacket. The bomber as a genre has become one of the most wearable and popular jacket styles in menswear (read all about the history of the bomber jacket here), largely because it's got an undeniably flattering shape, plus it also traverses thew tricky void between smart and casual. Cut to the waist, with its ribbed collar and flat front pockets, the bomber jacket should be a key piece in your year-round wardrobe.

BERMONDSEY BOMBER JACKET PINO OCHRE

This season, our Bermondsey bomber has been weatherproofed in order to brave the autumnal elements. Rather than bulk it out, we've retained the lightweight feel by using an Italian water-repellent cloth with a crisp technical handle. And although light, the jacket is also fully lined to keep you toasty and dry throughout the winter months.

We created our Bermondsey bomber jacket in a sleek navy style that perfectly elevates a modern casual look. It's a great tone to wear with sneakers and jeans at the weekend, but at the same time, it can easily be smartened up with some tonal navy corduroy trousers. The Pino Ochre version is a much punchier but no less wearable hue and is a great way to inject a block of vibrant colour into autumnal fits. Although bold, the ochre tone is infinitely versatile and works especially well contrasted with neutral tones and earthy hues such as forest green.
