We kept it under the radar (because no one likes to show their age) but 2022 actually marked our 20th year in business for Oliver Spencer. It has been a wild ride, especially these last couple of years, and we've seen the fashion landscape change massively in the last decade, especially in the menswear market. Last year wasn't without its headaches, mostly supply-related hangovers from the pandemic. Nevertheless, we managed to get to market collections that we are really proud of (and which are on SALE now by the way!)

This year we saw the launch of our collaboration with Niwaki on a gardening-inspired capsule, incorporating Niwaki’s love of Japanese silhouettes with our own take on traditional workwear shapes.

We had great fun shooting the Winter 22 collection at the Hippodrome in Great Yarmouth, where we got to know the very talented Tom Gaskin. Tom grew up around the circus and has developed into an incredibly multi-faceted performer who has recently transitioned into acting, so watch this space.

We were also fortunate enough to receive plenty of column inches in the menswear press throughout 2022, with Oliver Spencer clothing popping up in some really brilliant and creative editorials across a whole spectrum of publications. One of our favourites was actor David Harbour wearing one of our suits for GQ magazine, shot by Tung Walsh and styled by Angelo Mitakos.

So what about 2023? Hopefully there'll be a little less disruption to supply chains this year. It looks like we're over the worst of it but never say never! We're really excited to launch our Spring 23 collection shortly - look out for the first drop around the second week of February. There are a lot of new silhouettes in the collection, particularly in casual shirts, as well as some perennial favourites, while the array of fabrics is really great, with a tonne of new organic cotton cloths and well as some beautifully soft linen pieces.
Looking further out to AW23, we're currently presenting that collection to our wholesale customers, presenting it in Paris. Almost all of the outerwear has been made right here in the UK which we're so pleased about, ensuring the best quality product possible, as well as being more sustainable and good for the British textile industry.
As ever, we'd love to hear any feedback you've got for us, whether it's about collections past, or things you'd love to see in future collections.
