Oliver Spencer has once again collaborated with British folding bicycle maker Brompton Bicycles to create a unique hooded jacket for the stylish commuter. Following the great response to the Brompton blazer released last year (the first collaboration between Oliver Spencer and Brompton), Oli wanted to create a more sportswear-influenced option for the casual city rider, that once again deftly balances form and function and combines the two brands’ design principles. The result is the Brompton hooded jacket, constructed from a water-repellent lightweight Italian performance cloth using a sustainable proofer. Foremost among the jacket’s features is a retroreflective thread stitched in a grid pattern to ensure optimum visibility when riding in the city after dark.

“I wanted to take this hooded jacket in a slightly different direction to the blazer, creating something for a creative type who enjoys a more relaxed dress code during the week but would happily wear the jacket with his weekend fits. Hence the hoodie silhouette, which I think is modern and versatile. I wanted to incorporate pattern somehow but didn’t want to take away from the kind of urban minimalism of the fabric, so the retroreflective grid was the perfect solution for both style and safety.” Oliver Spencer
Inside, the jacket is fully lined with a camouflage fabric and carries over the unique strap details from the original Brompton blazer, allowing the jacket to be peeled off and worn over the shoulders. The stylish modern silhouette taken together with the performance aspects of the fabric ensure that the jacket will be a hit with urban riders, whether in or out of the saddle. What's more, we've used a sustainable proofing treatment to ensure that the jacket is shower proof in all but the most tumultuous of downpours!
