Sharing is caring, as the adage goes, and nowhere does it ring truer than this season's knitwear - designed for men, but as you'll now see, overwhelmingly wearable for women. If you needed any evidence that our knitwear looks equally as cool on any gender, we present you with the one and only Catherine Hayward, Esquire magazine and formerly Esquire's Big Black Book Fashion Director and long-time friend of Oli. Catherine actually styled our first ever lookbook way back when and has walked in one of our shows, so she was the first person we thought of to showcase this season's yarns.

Catherine has serious pedigree in menswear, setting Esquire's style agenda for the last 16 years. She is a member of the British Fashion Council's London Collections menswear committee and a member of the BFC's New Gen selection panel for menswear. She also co-authored Man About Town - a glossy history book about the evolution of men's fashion in the 20th century. And now, undoubtedly the zenith of her career - modelling knitwear for Oliver Spencer!

Although we did, once upon a time, design some womenswear, we discovered that most girls were coming into our stores and buying up the boys' stuff, from tailoring to tees, but especially knitwear. We don't cut an especially slim silhouette with our knitwear, so the slightly boxy cut works a dream if you like your knits oversized or slouchy.

For the most part, Catherine was wearing size medium in this shoot, which offers an oversized aesthetic, but without drowning in wool. That said, if your look is a bit grungy, then a large roll-neck will be long enough to turn it into a hybrid jumper dress but you'll need to roll back or alter the sleeves. If you're a girl looking for a Christmas present for your boyfriend that has twice the utility, then now you know exactly what to buy him. And if you're a boy reading this, don't be surprised to find your favourite knits go walkies...
